Muffin sitting.

Poor muffin. I have been baby sitting him for a couple of hours today and every time I have a little coughing fit, it scares him half to death!! He is asleep now. Unfortunately I have been hearing phantom babies crying ever since he went down. Am I the only person who hears phantom babies ?

I have been doing a bit of surfing recently. I am looking at running a stall at the next local markets so I have been looking for markets websites and other people on etsy and on blogger who sell at markets. I found a good website here.

One must-have for my market will be sunscreen. I burnt the back of my neck at a market on Saturday.

I have accepted a commission for custom made fascinator for a wedding in two weeks. So I have two tasks for the next two weeks. That fascinator plus a bucket load of market-material merchandise.

pretty

I have been as sick as a dog. Too sick to do anything. But I thought that I would post this pic of my embroidery threads. They are so pretty.

Softies!!

I went to the library today. Guess what they had? A copy of Softies!! whoo hoo!! I had heard a bit about this book from Virg and Fliss. You can guess that the library wont be getting their copy back in a hurry. We will be having a little sew-a-thon in the house tonight and tomorrow. Sunday is Cassies birthday. It would be cool to make something for her, but i dont know what. perhaps this t shirt

Can you guess that i have been blog searching for the last couple of hours?
One day soon he'll tell her its time to start packing and thie kids will yell 'Truly?' and get wildly excited for no reason.

Who hearts you baby?

I have just come back form a day babysitting Pumpkin. I was very naughty and did not look at Etsy at all since Friday. I have just checked now and 7 people heart me! Whoo Hoo!!
Pumpkin is soo cute! She woke me up this morning by squealing gently in my ear. Those who don’t spend time with kids wont think that its possible to squeal gently. But it is, and a gentle squeal is a blessing. Much less painful than one of Sweatpea’s body slams.
I played a fun game with the girls yesterday. They had both climbed into the cot while they were playing, and I called out. “Oh! A cage with wild animals in it” Then as I named animals, they made the noises. Elephants, mice, tigers, snakes. Occasionaly, to make it a bit more interesting for Sweatpea, who is a bit older, I said things like: “ a dog and a monkey” So she would listen to the noise Pumpkin was making and then make the sound of the other animal. Finally, when they were very loud, and getting louder, it was time for: “two fish in a cage”

Rain rain. Dont go away

It has been raining all day today. I know that i'm supposed to hate this weather, but i dont. I love it. It makes everything clean and new. And its so good for the garden. Its not even cold today. Its just been raining gently for hours. The light is different when it rains like this. You would expect it to be dark and miserable outside, but its not. There are no shadows, there is almost too much light. Soft white light.

1970's or bust.

At the moment I am listening to and LOVING the Ting tings. Especially we walk. But perhaps I should be listening to Duran Duran.

I have some new bead caps. No matter what I ad them too, they immediately time warp into the 70’s. Check out these earrings on etsy. And there will be more to come. I just love them. They are very clean and Space-age looking.

So now that I have a bunch or earrings up, I need to branch out into necklaces. Eek! Its bit harder to concentrate on, and harder to predict what the final product will look like.

I finally finished the outdoor table. I have included a pic. It is definitely not what I was hoping for but it is a definite improvement on the previous. I also need to report on my stamp making endeavors. Very exciting to have finally gotten started on this, but they did not turn out as expected. But then again, who expects to succeed the first time.

Lots of projects on the go now. Its good to be busy.
